NYC: Fashion District History Walking Tour

Sunday, May 27 at 2 p.m

Tour Overview Mike’s NYC Tours offers you a chance to learn all about the Fashion District and the apparel industry , this tour that takes participants through a brief history of the apparel industry in New York City, from Henry Hudson to the present time. Filled with anecdotes from his personal experience in the industry, Michael discusses the advent of mass production & the sewing machine, the development of “sizes,” the invention of synthetic fibers, and the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire and how it impacted both the building of the current Fashion District and the rise of unions in the industry. The tour will stops at iconic garment/fashion industry sites, including the Fashion Walk of Fame, and may include visits to showrooms and factories.

Tour Duration 1.5 – 2 hours

Meeting Location Northeast corner of Seventh Avenue at 39th Street between the Fashion Center Information Kiosk and the bronze statue of the garment worker.





El próximo Domingo 27 de Mayo a las 14:00 horas, tenéis una cita con el mundo de la moda de la mano de Mike Tours NYC y patrocinado por Fashion Center Business.
Un recorrido por el distrito de la moda, donde los participantes podrán conocer la historia de la industria de este sector en la ciudad de Nueva York. El itinerario se detiene en los sitios más emblemáticos sobre la elaboración de las prendas de vestir y podrá incluir visitas a showrooms y fábricas.
La duración del tour es de aproximadamente dos horas y el lugar de la reunión será en la esquina noreste de la Séptima Avenida y la calle 39, en el quiosco del Centro de información de la Moda.
