NYC: MASSIMO DUTTI in the CITY

It looked like it would never come a time, and who we are staunch defenders of Massimo Duti we missed one of their stores in American territory, in NYC indeed. Well, starting next Friday October 12th, we would enjoy one of their spaces near Central Park!

Parecia que nunca iba a llegar el momento, y es que las que somos defensores acerrimas de Massimo Duti echabamos de menos una de sus tiendas en territorio americano, y si puntualizamos mas, como no en NY. Pues bien, a partir del proximo viernes 12 de Octubre ya podemos disfrutar de uno de sus espacios cerca de Central Park!

October's list of store openings is huge, this month is still going to see plenty of retail action—and we're not talking about Halloween superstores. Over the next four weeks, Manhattan will be graced with new outposts from leather goods brand Ghurka, print powerhouse Pucci, and Zara sibling Massimo Dutti, among others.

Massimo Dutti announced plans to take over Zara's spot at 689 Fifth Avenue a little over a year ago, but up until today there was only a vague "fall 2012" opening date to go by. Now, we have something a little more concrete: Next Friday!!.

The Madison Avenue location will mark Massimo Dutti's first store in the states. If you're unfamiliar with the line, the article describes the brand as the "younger, less developed sibling of Zara," being that they're both owned by Inditex. A spokesperson for the company differentiates the two brands as trendy (Zara) versus classic (Massimo), meaning that the Massimo Dutti shopper is looking to add staple pieces to their wardrobe, while the Zara customer is looking for a neon blazer, a studded purse, or something else along those lines. 

Coming soon, stores in Toronto and Washington will follow.

La lista de nuevos "stores" de moda para este mes en NYC es enorme, y no estamos hablando de tiendas para Halloween... Durante las próximas cuatro semanas, Manhattan se verá inundado con nuevas  marcas como Ghurka, Pucci,  nuevos locales de Zara y  otra novedad en el pais de la mano del grupo Inditex, Massimo Dutti.

Massimo Dutti parecía que iba a brir su tienda, hace poco más de un año, donde hoy se encuentra Zara, en el 689 Fifth Avenue; pero hasta hoy sólo era un vago "otoño de 2012". Ahora, por fin tenemos la fecha: El próximo viernes!.

Madison Avenue será la elegida para abrir la primera tienda de Massimo Dutti en los Estados Unidos. Si no está familiarizado con la línea, la marca se describe como la "más joven o hermana menor  de Zara" propiedad ambos del grupo de Inditex. Diferenciándose las dos marcas como una más moderna, Zara, en la que podremos encontrar chaquetas de neón o bolsos de tachuelas, a precios más asequibles y la más clásica, Massimo Dutti donde encontraremos prendas de corte femenino y una calidad más elevada en sus tejidos. 

Próximamente, nuevas tiendas abrirán sus puertas en Toronto y Washington.
